We've paused US orders

Our packaging isn't doing its job in the US. We'd rather stop than send you bars that aren't right.

What went wrong

Our bars are wrapped in compostable film. It breaks down properly, it doesn't sit in landfill for centuries, and it's one of the things we're proudest of.

It also doesn't cope well with heat and humidity. Ireland and the UK are mild and damp. Large parts of the US are not. Between the warehouse, the trucks and the doorstep, our bars were spending too long in conditions the wrap wasn't built for.

The result was bars arriving dry, or not tasting the way they should. Not spoiled, not unsafe, just not up to standard. Some of you told us. You were right.

What we're doing about it

The easy fix would be to switch to plastic. Plastic holds up fine. We're not doing that.

We're reworking the packaging instead, not giving up on it.

We're testing compostable films that can handle higher temperatures and longer transit, and we're looking at how the bars are stored and shipped once they land in the States.

That takes months, not weeks. We'd rather take the time and get it right than reopen and repeat the same mistake. Until then, US orders are off.

Get in touch and we'll sort it. Every order placed before the pause is being honoured, refunded or replaced.

Are the bars safe to eat?

Yes. This is a freshness and quality issue, not a safety one. If a bar you've received isn't right, tell us and we'll replace it.

Can I still order to a US address from your Irish site?

No. We've turned off US shipping everywhere until this is fixed.

What about my subscription?

US subscriptions are paused, not cancelled. You won't be charged. We'll contact you directly before anything restarts.

When will you be back?

We don't have a date yet. We'll announce it here and on our social channels as soon as we know.

Why not just use plastic?

Because the packaging is part of the point. We'd rather solve the problem than give up on it.

We built this brand on real ingredients and doing things properly. Pausing a whole market isn't a decision we took lightly, but sending out bars we're not proud of would have been worse.
